For:
The Outlier
The Seeker
The Deep-Feeling
The Misunderstood
Are you...

~ The artistically gifted who can create beauty but no longer feel it?
~ The person who can’t name their pain, only carry its weight?
~ The partner who feels lonelier in the relationship than outside it?
~ The empath who’s been told they are too sensitive?
~ The achiever who’s vanished inside their own success?
~ The one who’s mastered blending in, but longs to be seen?

If you’re not looking for a manual or a formula, but a space where the pressure lifts and something fresh and alive can begin, my practice may be right for you.
When anxiety tightens, depression fogs, burnout numbs, grief lingers, trauma echoes, creative block hits, relationships strain, or questions of identity, belonging, intimacy, or meaning arise, I honor your depth and help you live in close contact with your authentic self and discover new ways forward.
Be met fully. Listen inward. Live freely.
A Fellow Person, Listening Fully.
I’m Jimmy Barker, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles. I work with people who want to have a deeper connection with themselves:
= to feel whole and integrated;
= to bring forward what has been buried, silenced, or forgotten;
= to make meaning of their pain;
= to experience life with fresh eyes;
= and to live in alignment with their inner authority.

I come from the artistic world. That life taught me how rare, and how healing, it is to be real with someone. It also taught me to value difference, to hear what often goes unspoken, and to honor the many forms authenticity can take.

My approach is relational, experiential, and somatic. We slow down and listen to what your body knows about your life. Instead of circling problems in your head, we attend to the felt sense: the subtle, wise signals from your whole being. This is not only about emotion; it is the complex, textured way your body holds your lived experience.

I’ve had specialist training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, somatic EMDR, and interpersonal neurobiology. I previously worked at a non-profit working with kids, teens, adults, and families.

Before becoming a therapist, I led teams in music, fashion, and cultural strategy in London and Los Angeles. Experience that helps me understand creative pressure, public-facing roles, and the private cost of high expectations. I know what it’s like where image is everything and vulnerability is currency.
